I'm slowly being implemented as Sam's babysitter.
The first time as the guy that was just there incase he would wake up (I kept checking if he was still breathing that evening...I found the whole experience nerve wrecking).
The second time to watch over him and put him to bed with with Bianca as backup (who did everything in the end but I learned).
A couple of times at my own house when he slept over. (where I changed his diaper for the first time with verbal assistance from my sister).
But today. Almost totally alone except for the start.
Just me and Sam.
When I got to her house. She opened the door and Sam was still sleeping. We had a chat and not much later he woke up. He's still sleepy here. I sometimes can't believe how big he become already.
My sister was making dinner for us and I was watching him in the living room. It wasn't a great start. He was rather grumpy.
I couldn't understand why he was so grumpy. He's normally awesome. His mood changed after I got some food into him. It all made sense straight away.
My sister had to go out around 6:30. She made a nice dinner for us. After she left. It was just me and Sam.
I guess there is nothing glorious about babysitting. He crawls now and I walk after him preventing him from killing himself.
You also have to sit on the floor. Building a tower with plastic cups which he then wrecks and then you repeat that X times until he's tired.
Around an hour it took him to start rubbing his little hands in his eyes. I took him upstairs and changed his diaper. I don't have a glorious story about that. It went easy. I took the old diaper of. Wiped him clean (no poop) and put on a new one. I folded the 'wings' outwards. If you don't do that he will shit the bed or so I'm told. I then put him in his crib and put on his sleeping bag. He left me with this:
I went downstairs. Turned on the baby phone and listened to him making sounds. He then went quiet.
I got nervous so I went to check once.
He was sleeping like a baby :)
I went downstairs again and I feel like I have things under control.
I don't feel nervous anymore.
I have become a next level babysitter!
