I love leisurely cinema, in which characters are revealed gradually, as if dragging you to the very bottom of their souls. This is a special mood of immersion and empathy. Such a film for me is "Moonlight" by Barry Jenkins.

"Moonlight" is a movie about growing up, but from this story Barry Jenkins creates something intimate for each of us.
In the film, we see three stories, and each of these stories is connected to each other, but not through events, but thanks to the main character. Each subsequent Chiron is a continuation of the previous one.
A valuable element of the harmonious commonality of parts is the same power of all three images of the protagonist. The main character is not accidentally brought out on top of all other characters in the film, characterizing a circle of typical characters, including his mother, his classmates and neighbors. He emphasizes the importance of his features and reinforces the contrast between originality and homogeneity, increasing alienation, reaching open war.
