This is a while lavender I shot in one of the natural park nearby. Big bushes of purple flowers surrounded by tall pines trees and smaller yellow and white wildflower.. It is a really nice thing to look at. So why would I bother going in the middle of winter?
Well... to shoot #drystuff :)

This is probably as dry as it gets. After that it is only break down and fall to the ground. It doesn't even look like a lavender anymore.

A little bit earlier you can still see the dried flower parts. The pods are already open and the leaves and slowly turning yellow.
To be honest those were shot in the same time on the next bush :). But you can see the earlier stage.

And probably the nicest form, the one everyone admires... the flowers.
Shot in a slight different location and different time obviously, but it is the same lavender.

Pretty, right?
I still like the dry stuff though.
