The long nose creatures

Those are my mum's Rhododendrons. Or rather were... Their blooming time is not very long, but they surely make up for it with they gorgeous, big flowers.
And then this is what's left which of course I have to photograph too. Those dry forms are so cool and so different than the full bloomed flower.

Doesn't it look like they have long noses sticking out from a ginger hoodies?
There is nothing to sniff there. The flowers are gone!
