There is a very small and not the best beach few minutes from me. The water there is not fully sea water as the tides mix it with the sweet river water so I guess the plants have it a bit easier trying to grow on the sand. We decided to take (besides my trusty macro Sigma) a little bokeh producers. And this is what I found one of the sunny days.
This little thing is growing straight from the sand, very close to the ground with tiny little flowers. The leaves are very thick like some sea coral. You can read more about the plant HERE so I will not repeat.
It almost looks like it could belong in a salad :)
Pentacon 50mm 1.8 is one of the manual lenses we have that are made for bokeh and that was the reason we got them. I do prefer the more pronounced bubbles in the back, but this is nice too. Not something I would go for, but change is good.
The softens of the edges gives some underwater feel, don't you think?
I didn't take any shots of the leaves so here is borrowed one from HERE. You can also check more shots there and flowering period. It is a very cool site to ID local (Portuguese) flora.
