Peekaboo!

Here we are with Mr Helios again. The lens I dreamed of and when I finally got my hands on it to try out, I struggled a lot! I will blame the habits and that I was used to a different working lenses. It is not even that I had to focus manually and set the camera manually. I just knew what it can do, and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it. Noobies frustration I guess.

Later on I did manage to get close to the effects I wanted. The million of flying bubbles and swirls that can make one dizzy. This is what I wanted. The unreal world that exists only when you look though a magic tool.

As one if the first tries (it is my brother lens by the way and I had official permission to use it) I took it to my mum's garden. All the photos you see here were shot on a small, maybe 2 square metres area. She has so many plants tucked everywhere that I could just sit down and turn around and shoot, shoot, shoot!

Amazing how simplest things look good when you add that mysterious dreaminess to them. When you remove all the unnecessary rubbish from the back and show just the little things. The stems, shapes of leaves, colours... It all comes to life and they are the start of the show.

This is exactly what I like the most about macro photography and bokeh. To be able to combine it together and make things look differently than the eye would see it. Show the details that are not noticed.

And it turns out that absolutely everything is worth photographing. Everything around us is beautiful, even the simplest grasses that were not supposed to be there, but still managed to bloom.
