Monomad - The pile

I wonder where all those snails come from!?
Every ear there are piles and piles of snail shells laying around the gardens and near the roads. I find them stuck to the dry plant stems and fences. Around the garden pots and concrete lamp poles.

Thousands and thousands of empty snail shells of different sizes. It is kind of a sad look.. like some graveyard or sign of a disaster.
But the next they it happens again. So it is not like they extinct in that area. Well.. I am sure some people like that to happen since they are a terrible pest in the garden.
But where the hell they all come from?!
