Hello Hive Communities,
How are we all doing today, I welcome you to my blog. We are in the middle of the year, the real rainy season and a rainy month generally which is the month of June, but it has been surprising to me that rain is not falling constantly as supposed. But the snail picking tradition by children and some adults that so desire is on going right away. Although these kids were picking their own during the day time in my premises.
Did you realize that some people do suspend their middle of the night sleep and rest to go out into some neighborhood bushes, picking snails, both big and small in sizes, this method of midnight snail search and pick is called in venacular or in Igbo language
( Nmu Eju).
See how Nmu Eju happens, some youths or any set of people will just come together agreeing within themselves to step out from midnight hours with either their touch lights or lamps, then moving gradually and slowly in the bushes searching very carefully for every sleeping snail to capture for their meals. Some youths around where I live usually engage in this method for catching some snails to enjoy some snails delicious delicacies, according to them!
I don't eat snails, it's draousy drawing saliva irritates me. I have never tried eating it at all before and don't think I would
Some time ago, my friend's three kids came to visit me at home and immediately switched over into picking up so many crawling snails on the leaves of my planted crops in the garden. The kids were so happy having found such bounty from just the garden in my compound.
Green grasshopper ( praying mantis)
Mushroom in my garden.
There and then, I started snapping and capturing them and they were happily posing for my shots. There was no really big snails, though these ones were created naturally these sizes but these kids were hunting for them as they became a complete meat for enjoyment in their family that day, their mom told me.
Thank you for your presence to read and engage with me. Keep coming, that's why we're here!
