An extreme type of "look but don't touch" cactus. Most of them is pretty mean and just wait to shred your fingers. But this one is one of the nastiest I have.
I know it is Mammillaria, but I have no idea what type The closest thing I found online is Mammillaria magnimamma. Is it? Maybe.. it will be easier when it blooms. Bought it a while ago as one large plant and one small next to it. The spines are just so impressive with the very dark green couldn't of the body. I couldn't resist.
It is already potted up in bigger pot with proper cactus soil and it is enjoying the sun outside. Yep... it is handling the hot sun now, but I was making sure it is adjusting to living outside slowly.
Now I am waiting for some flower. They should be... wait for it...
...pink!
Pretty, isn't it?
