The worldwide known masters of annoyance (besides mosquitoes). They show up uninvited out of nowhere and will annoy the living hell out of you with their buzzing, pooping on food, trying to get to your ears... you know what I mean.
This annoyance does ease a bit though after you start talking photos of them and notice their peculiar look. The huge eyes, hair backs and legs, and so many colours on their butts.
They are not that bad after all ;)
As I was shooting I thought it was one of the bees - few types was showing up to feed on the lavender. But nope, not a bee. I got a nice, fatty fly instead.
I had to actually ask google to make sure what are the most visible differences between bees and flies to be able to distinguish them faster.
Here is a quick lesson then:
- Flies have two wings - bees have four.
- Flies have very short antennas - bees have long a thin ones.

That's probably the simples thing to remember.
Here is a lovely out of focus artistic photo, since I manage to get those too (and I like the soft colours here).
A pretty green one for dessert? Why not :)
All ere shot at my mums garden. The little bud below is a straw flower I think.
