It is that time when it is way too hot and bugs fly to your mouth :)
It is also the time my way_too_many cacti bloom. This is Mammillaria backebergiana that I have for about 3 years now. It blooms ever year with pink flowers. After a quick summer rain I picked some of my spiky friends for a photoshoot. All the flowers and the spines look so good with the drops on.
And since it is fall, it is more suitable to show them in more gloomy version.
Here is the whole cactus. Not a big one and still in a clay pot. Boy oh boy, I learned the hard way that they hate clay pots in my climate. This year she got a proper plastic one and started to grow a little faster.
Now fingers crossed they survive the rainy winter again and I can enjoy the blooms next summer too.
