I am used to gloomy and dark winters. With a bit of luck snow would brighten up the short days, but overall the world looks like on monochrome photography.
Winter in the south of Europe is so different! The grass is as green as it can be. Small wildflowers are blooming, most trees stay green too.

Daucus carota
It is a very common weed also known as Queen Anne's lace or simply wild carrot. And yes... it blooms in winter. It actually bloom all year round with the peak during the summer. But the flowers can be seen all the time and almost everywhere. It is widespread in Europe and North America, and can also bee seen in parts of Asia. A true, resilient wed :)
The flowers are super tiny and create nice cluster when they open. In the very center of each umbel you will see a darker ones. Apparently it is to imitate insects in order to attract more of them. Resilient and cheeky ;)
The root of the plant is edible, just as the cultivated carrot we all know. It is not as juicy and big though. The wild, natural forms are usually smaller. Apparently the flowers are also edible. In case you are curious to try - please always make sure you know what you pick in the wild.
Otherwise just admire them :)
