Hi @roleerob, I've read some politicians from South Korea and Japan resigned from their positions when they're caught with money or political scandal.

In the Philippines, a former president was impeached, put in prison for plunder, graft and corruption, and when pardoned by the succeeding president, the impeached president ran for mayoral office, and won. People still voted for him.

Three senators were also accused and tried for plunder, and during that time, none of them dared to resign. I think one of them ran for office for a succeeding term and won again. I don't understand why people still voted for him.

I think a lot of Filipino people are already aware and alert of the injustices and inequalities that have been prevailing in our country for decades, but still, the majority would vote for public officials just because these candidates were popular or had bought their votes. Unfortunately, vote-buying is still prevalent.

So when you wrote:

I say, not generally though.
