The Holy Cross of the Simon-Volomsky hermitage is located on the border of the Veliky Ustyug and Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky districts of the Vologda region of Russia. Nearby is the Kichmenga River flows.
Volomy is a bush from the villages of Mokeikha, Martynikha, Pokrovka, Pogost and Zimnyak. All villages were abandoned by people back in the 60s, only pilgrims to this day visit this wild land. The nearest village is 30 km by off-road.
