This year, it’s a bit tougher with street and everyday life — I have less free time for daytime walks. And it’s all because I’ve disconnected from the reporting wave I was constantly on.
Now I only get involved in reporting when it’s necessary, and in everyday life I don’t even know where I am.
It’s as if I’m in some kind of corridor with many doors leading to different worlds, and I only peek into one or another as needed.
Overall, I’ve been living like this for a long time now, but I’ve always clearly felt the influence of one creative genre wave or another.
Right now, it feels like I’m nowhere and everywhere at the same time.
That is, I’ve already connected to previous, sometimes even archived, frequencies from the period 2013–2019.
Perhaps this year will be a time for me to refine and practice all the skills I’ve acquired.
I don’t know if something new is being prepared for me...and where else? What else is there?
Unless I really make some kind of discovery in the metaphysics of photography...
Yes, this year everything is mostly metaphysical – a lot of reflection, experiments, and trips to old places of power.
Maybe that’s why I started taking fewer photos of the street during the day.
But the desire doesn’t disappear; it even grows stronger – that’s always the case when there’s no opportunity.
Therefore, I won’t leave you even without a street.
Currently, a lot of public spaces in Vologda are being updated – this might bring me back to reporting and street journalism.
And I still have a question for the universe: will my wish never come true?
More than six months have passed, and I still can’t call this year metaphysical and cosmic.
It’s still not clear at all what year this is...
