For the first time I began to shoot on a smartphone (more precisely, on a mobile phone) back in 2006, when I bought myself some kind of Samsung with a 1.3 megapixel camera!
Even then, the price of the device depended on the power of the camera and the quality of the images produced.
It’s a pity, I don’t have any pictures from that phone...
Even then I began to capture the reality around me, although at the same time I was shooting with a film camera.
I also love that memory sizes go up and down in price.
Previously, 128 GB memory was only on hard disks of computers, but there was no question of a flash drive.
Now in a smartphone, the memory can be expanded to infinity, depending on the infinity of your wallet. I'm about cloud storage.
Physical memory is also available in large sizes, which are simply unrealistic to fill.
At the moment, there are 4595 photos and 204 videos in my smartphone. Used 67% of memory. This is in two years.
For those who shoot videos, clips, movies, etc., more memory is needed. But my blog is about photography.
I duplicate all the pictures on the cloud and on the computer.
100 Gigs on the cloud costs 100 rubles ($1.4) per month. It's very cheap!
But it's all so easy if you are not a reporter!
The reporter needs terabytes!!! And if this is some kind of news agency, then immediately the server!
What a powerful breakthrough the digitalization of photography has made - in a matter of years we have achieved the highest efficiency.
But does anyone need it now?
Everything began to be solved by video by a smartphone.
And the professionals are very slowly, but declined and may soon become extinct.
In all regional newspapers not a single photojournalist remained on the staff.
Because it's easier for a journalist to take a smartphone with him and take a photo on it than to drag a whole photographer with him on a mission.
Time will tell...
In the meantime, I'm a little worried about the future of professional photography.
But it’s not scary if another photo revolution happens. Somehow we were able to part with the film...
