Not a single city, even the smallest, is left without decorations for the New Year holidays. It is clear that the best outfits will be in cities with a population of over one million, but the New Year's Eve atmosphere is one hundred percent everywhere. In principle, much is not needed, for me, for example, it is enough to have snow on the street.
But the real New Year's atmosphere has long since gone with childhood into the past...
As always before any holiday, the peak of emotional stress falls on the moments "before". And "after" everything is already forgotten, disappears or goes to another "before": Christmas, old New Year, Epiphany, etc.
I have had moments in my life when Christmas prevailed in the atmosphere and sensations over the New Year.
New Year is a family holiday! If I had a chance to celebrate it alone, I would have done it walking the deserted streets with a bottle of rum in one hand and a tripod with a camera in the other.

I mean that I have a very strong professional deformation, that for me any holiday is a reason to take pictures. Moreover, for me any cataclysm is also a reason for shooting.
All New Year's holidays I will work.

But I only know the answer on a point scale. If you ask globally, then perhaps I will not be able to answer...as well as many other questions about the meaning of life.
New Year, it seems to me, is even more of a children's holiday. After all, adults do not believe in Santa Claus for a long time!
Although they are still trying hard to grab that old atmosphere...
