Before taking photos, I had thoughts of trying to capture dilapidated housing in a more abstract way, as I do with courtyard spaces.
But then the meaning of documentation is lost. Here you need to focus on specifics, and not on metaphysics...although it is still present.
And so I do this exclusively at night, in order to somehow bring picturesqueness and beauty into the picture, and not despondency and decay.
Plus, the atmosphere of the place is transmitted much more strongly at night than during the day.
This month I've been on all the creative waveforms: shooting street, postcard landscape, graphics, reportage, and even night landscapes with full frontal flash.
To do this, I just mentally tried to connect to this or that wave and I succeeded.
Also dilapidated housing. At first, I had a different opinion, until I analyzed in detail what was at what level.
I was afraid to connect to the wave of documenting dilapidated housing, thinking that it would affect me negatively.
Yes, it could play a cruel joke if I connected up to it the wrong way.
After all, the most important thing in any business is the attitude towards it. You cannot deceive yourself, you just need to change your attitude, and these are also different frequencies.
It turns out that you can shoot anything, the main thing is how! We need the right approach to business.
And this may be completely imperceptible from photographs, it will differ mainly in its internal attitude to what is happening.
All my photographic activity smoothly turned into experiment and self-knowledge.
From the outside, it may seem that I am doing a useful job, capturing the past or reflecting everyday reality.
And there are people who support me in this, attach importance and show interest.
But this does not mean at all that this project is something serious and significant.
I repeat, the main thing is to realize the purpose of one's activity, to answer oneself to the question "why?" and attitude.
To be continued...
