I listened this audiobook about 3 years ago and something in it just made a lot of things click with me, things changed and that was probably the best year of my life. I remember re-listening the first three "private victories" over and over because I felt like I hadn't mastered them yet.
This book's strength is in its anecdotes. The message has a solid foundation but the anecdotes and examples are really what reach out and grab you, or at least it did for me. Some of the interpersonal stuff was particularly powerful with reconnecting with my family. I'm not a very open person but I learned how to listen, really listen to people, and why it was so important to just put yourself aside for a bit and really make people feel understood, and that might be the one thing that's stuck with me the most.
The author himself reads it and you can tell he doesn't waste one word while reading; he put his heart and soul into creating this book so it reflects in how he reads it. One of my favorite books of all time and it has positively impacted so many people. Its helped save relationships, grow businesses and give strength to people who need it. If you could use some real growth in your life or if you want to figure out what it is you should do in life this book is a great tool.
Marinate on it. I'm on a pretty big shift in life right now so I'm going through certain sections of the book to help me on my own journey. The thing about this book is you always find something new depending where you are in life.
So this book means a lot to me so maybe someone might give it chance and have it impact them like it impacted me.
