WE 177 Art on the weekend

Greetings dear readers today I give life and love to my blog in resonance to the timely and pleasant artistic invitation offered by our friend @galenkp.

I am currently part of a women's cultural collective where we learn to play "tambores afrovenezolana". Our rehearsal place is located on the outskirts of the old Plaza de Toro in Caracas, a place that has been rehabilitated by various cultural and artistic groups in view of the fact that in the past it was the epicenter of multiple barbarities and criminal acts.

With such participation of artists and cultural groups, an environment of greater comfort and harmony has been projected in the area and nearby urbanisms. This is how @caro.barro.arte, comes to us in May 2022 with a proposal to give us a workshop, whose knowledge would serve us to set our rehearsal place. This project was approved by a foundation which donated us the material to start the restoration of the space.

Due to our personal commitments and those of the artist herself, we have approached the project between 2022 and 2023 intermittently, thus we have had few encounters. In spite of this, each drummer with her best intention, under the guidance of the artist, has contributed her creativity and desire of expression through plastic arts, showing as much beauty as her humanity.

After another long break, for this Saturday 10/28/2023, finally my colleagues of @herenciamujertambor together with the artist @caro.barro.arte, we were able to make time to meet and give love and life to our space again.

According to the legend, specifically this place where we do cultural life, was the enclosure of a bull called Cascabelero which was very noble, as much as they incited him for the bullfights, he did not correspond to such violence, therefore, they spared his life being released in some Venezuelan place.

For this reason, in this place, in the coming days we wish an inauguration, in tribute to Cascabelero being a timely event to beat the drums and extol the expressive and creative freedom without harm to others, we really lack few details for its realization.

And today Sunday I continue in my artistic wave, in which I took up again embroidery, a manual art in which I have very little skill, but I have been nourished with some tutorials on google and youtube. With this art I am also creating a project related to some personal drawings, which in the past were very criticized by some virtuosos, considering my drawings as Naif art, something that I really did not mind, since my drawings are an intimate reflection of moments lived in my training processes as a facilitator in Biodanza and that has for me a value that transcends.

In each session I had significant experiences based on my emotions and desires of changes for my well-being, some of those experiences I was capturing them in very simple drawings that now I take to embroidery, to someday express and make known the psychophysical benefits that Biodanza brought to my existence, being captured in a nice tapestry to take it wherever I want, maybe to some session of biodanza offered in the very near future.
