If you saw my post from yesterday you might mistake me for a hottie but I’m actually just a dirty little gremlin who likes to destroy stuff.

Lil gremlin took it upon herself to use pent up energy by demolishing a laminate floor while the man of the house was at work. It took me half a day but I already knew what to expect from doing this to one of the other bedrooms.

Some dim-witted previous owner thought it would be a good idea to cover all the old hardwood floors with what is basically plastic that doesn’t let the house breathe, and is ugly. Putting synthetic materials on the flooring and walls of an old timber frame house can propose a serious risk in the long run with mold. Luckily the old windows haven’t been replaced and we are now opening at least some of the floors to their original 1950-ish state so the house can have a sigh of relief before it’s too late.

What I uncovered today were the same type and colour old hardwood floors that are in our master bedroom too. The muted sage green is actually a very trendy colour right now and I think we’ll just leave it as is for this room. These floors are in a better shape than on the other room and will require pretty minimal TLC in my opinion.

I’m not quite the lady of the manor but I’ll be damned if I can’t decorate like I was!
