By default, I’m a boring introvert who spends majority of her time alone in her ivory tower, all the while wondering why I’m dissatisfied of my life. Okay, it doesn’t take a Sherlock to figure out that the problem might be not ever leaving the house, getting into new situations and meeting new people. I do know all of this, but taking action, first getting out of bed, then getting myself ready, and finally stepping outside, takes enormous amounts of energy.
Being alone in not a problem to me, and I don’t need a gang of friend around me to go somewhere, but breaking habits of going to the same places and doing the same things is hard. I figured I need to spank myself and do something I never normally do, and get into habit of breaking habits.
There is this very nice bar in my city, old school charm, dark interiors and during a weekday, it’s quite peaceful. I came here, ordered a glass of Riesling and made my way to the back of the bar. There is a book case on the back and I picked up a crime novel by Patricial Cornwell, a pretty safe bet. Yes, I could drink a whole bottle at home at the same price and I have good books, but I meed to do these kinds of things more.
It feels like my brain is excercising and rewiting just by me doing this simple act of removing myself from the environment I’m always in.
Who knows what adventures this might lead to.
