Time to get used to the rain, wind and darkness that inevitably surrounds us for the next few months. Only if we are lucky and the Nordic weather Gods feel generous are we granted early snow that brings peace and lightness.

I truly do like all the seasons, at least at the start of every changing one, it keeps things interesting, and more importantly justifies the amount of jackets and shoes I own.

My interests always rotate and sadly photography has not been at the top in a long time, so I already missed the prime autumn foliage. The perfect bright yellow, orange and red hues came and went in an instant, and I’m afraid this wind and rain will sweep what was still left away. Soon it’s all brown and barren everywhere until we start getting sub zero temperatures.

There is an upside to all the dark and nasty weather; you can stay inside in good consience and enjoy moody lighting. I will stock up on candles, both real and led ones before we go down to 4 hours of daylight.

Anyone else in the northern hemisphere looking forward to spending time inside in candlelight drinking red wine?
