PHILIPPIANS 3:10
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Vs. 10
Paul seeks to know more of God even unto His death.
Quest means an act of searching or of searching for God. It also means an attempt for one to find God.
If one living in this world doesn't desire in our heart to find God, it means we are for hell.
One can not search for God unless the person has had an encounter with Him.
A canal man cannot look for God because his heart is always having evil. An ordinary man cannot desire for God unless an heavy obstacle / power surpasses him.
God can never look for one except we look for Him.
Those who are not searching for God are those who hate God and hate his message.
Once one search and find him, your thinking faculty, reasoning, the way you see things, ideas must change.
Except you climb to a higher mountain by faith you cannot see Jesus. Except you do something about your heights, thinking faculty, heart you cannot see Jesus.
LUKE 19:1-10
And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Vs. 1
And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. Vs. 2
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. Vs. 3
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. Vs. 4
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. Vs. 5
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. Vs. 6
And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. Vs. 7
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Vs. 8
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. Vs. 9
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Vs. 10
Like Zacchaeus, he was a chief tax collector and a rich man.
Trying to look for Jesus or see Jesus he couldn't. He wasn't contented with the situation at hand so he left the crowd and ran ahead of the crowd to climb a tree just to see Jesus.
If our situation of questing for God doesn't reach this limit then we've not started looking or searching for Him.
Take note, when he finally saw Jesus, and Jesus decided to pay him a visit he was ready to let go of everything he has collected from people.
Most times, we find Him but we are not ready to follow Him whole heartedly, we are not ready to let go.
Wait let me go and enjoy life small or wait let me go and finish schooling. Jesus is knocking at each and every one of us door, all He wants is for us to hear Him knocking and open.
So many are still in the crowd, not ready to run ahead of the crowd or let go of our sins.
LUKE 9:62
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Vs. 62
Jesus says anyone who is like this is not fit for the kingdom of God.
THINGS THAT STOP THE QUEST FOR GOD
- Cares of this world
- Deceitfulness of riches
- Lust of the world and other things.
For one to have passion for the quest of God, one must hunger and thirst after righteousness.
