1 JOHN 2: 15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Vs. 15
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Vs. 16
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Vs. 17
The Word of God makes it clear to us in this scripture that as Children of God and joint heirs with Christ, there are things we are not expected to be a part of or love.
We have been warned not to love the world or the things in the world for they are not of the Father, meaning they shall one day vanish.
Jesus knew that for Him to complete the purpose for which He came to do on planet earth He has to break free from the things of the world for they bring distraction to one's ministry.

ROMAN 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Vs. 2
For one to fulfill ministry on planet earth one has not to be conformed to the world, one has to forsake everything in the world and be transformed.
Nothing in the world is worth giving our life for, nothing in this world is worth loosing our soul for. There is no profit in loosing our life in the process of trying to love the world or trying to conform to the world so we can be loved but there is gain in loving God. Eternal life is sure for any one who forsake the world and cleave unto Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
MATTHEW 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Vs. 26
Anyone who refuses to loose friendship with the world and follow Jesus, this is what scripture says;
JAMES 4:4
You adulterous people,[a] don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Vs.4
