A story was told about a man who was about drowning and decided to ask God for help. After praying, he believed that God would come and save him, so he refused any help that he could get from the boatmen who came around to save him.
The first boatman came to help him but he refused his help saying, God will come and save him, the second boatman came around, he said the same thing to the second boatman, and the third boatman came around, to help him, he said the same thing to the third boatman.
The man ended up drowning and died. When he got to heaven, he met God, and then he asked God, "why didn't you come and save me when I was drowning?" God, answers him, "I came but you refused to be saved".
The man did not understand because he was sure he did not see Gid come to save him, he only saw three boatmen come to save him which he refused them saying, "God will come to save him".
God told him, I sent three boatmen to save you, but you could not identify them and because you could not, you allowed the opportunity to pass you by.
So, I am sure many of us would be laughing after reading this story I wrote the same I was laughing after I finished reading this story on Facebook but as funny as this story may sound, it is a life lesson to every one of us.
I hear people say, I have been doing prayer and fasting to God for him to give him a good job but my question is after that prayer and fasting, what next? Have you gone to submit your application or better still, have you thought about the business idea that has been popping up in your head lately?
In as much as we want to pray and fast to God about our needs which isn't a bad idea, have we done anything about it, have you gone out to check your surroundings or environment to see what you can do to earn yourself a job and meet people needs?
The man was drowning and needed God to fly down from heaven to save him 😂😂😂, what was he thinking by the way? Oh, I remember I guess he read bout the manna that God allowed to fall from heaven to feed the Israelites, so I guess he was thinking God would do the same thing.
🤦♀️, just maybe his thoughts were right, I don't know 🤷♀️ but I still think he lacked the sense of seeing the opportunity of been saved right in front of him and that is why he drowned. He was not able to identify the opportunity right in front of him.
Identify the opportunity and make it happen. Stop letting opportunities slip away from you and be ready to grab any opportunity that comes your way. Always be on alert to be able to identify the opportunity and make them work.
Opportunities will come but it is in our ability to be able to identify them and work towards making them work in our best interests.
