THE GOLD MINE
Splinterlands gaining it's popularity in crypto community by providing chances for players to test their luck on Daily Quests.
There's a lot of fantastic stories about how lucky some players pulling out Legendary Gold Foiled cards out of Daily Quest Rewards (it was 100% cards, not loot chests filled with potions and DEC like today). This stories lured many crypto miners to this Gold Mine.
Depletion
As in real world gold mine, this mine should has its limit (scarcity). It won't be a rare, mythical or even legendary if you could endlessly mine it. The developers take action on this depletion issue. After the early reward cards print limit reached, they try to change the reward mechanism to loot boxes, makes the odds getting cards as reward more difficult.
Never underestimate the mood of RNG God
It's shocking, but it's happening. The reward cards still printing so freaking fast! The Gold Legendaries get printed fast too, despite the tiny odds! Some of this players are unbelievably lucky, seems to be effortlessly pulling out Gold Foiled Legendaries. They literally minting Gold by playing Trading Card Game!
Tighten the faucet
Devs once again took further action on this issue and forbid the usage of legendary and gold potions on Reward Cards (both Daily Quest Rewards and Season Rewards). If you look back, to how this potions came at the first time to water down the sweet 100% cards reward, only to be useless on the same Reward Cards.
Ironic.
But, that's reality. You can't compare how our ancestor could easily mine gold from caves and rivers to this day gold mining. More people, means more competition to make sure the system is sustainable. Yes, it obviously benefits the early adopter big time. They earned it. But, Splinterlands is growing and growing.
Getting out of the Echo Chamber
Crypto community is just a small (if not tiny) portion of potential user targets. Soon, the mobile application will be released, wider marketing campaigns will be pushed and Splinterlands will be exposed to the world. Exciting!
If you just joined Splinterlands today, you too, will benefit as an early adopters!
That's it for today, let's play! 🍻
