A One Sided Victory — The Rules Were Brutal But My Monster Selection Was Perfect

Todays 99-mana battle was very interesting and in high mana battles the twist becomes even greater because you have more opportunities for monster selection. You can select the best cards from your deck and easily position them and line them up for the battle.

That is why my win rate is often higher in high mana battles because I can select the monsters according to my choice and position them.

But the difficulty comes when you see hard rulesets and there are some restrictions because your selection becomes restricted again. Exactly today in this 99 mana battle I saw three hard rulesets where I noticed restrictions and because of that I had a little struggle with monster selection.

But this is exactly the twist of any battle. when the rules are hard it becomes a challenge for you to decide how you select your monsters and how you position them. So lets see what strategy I adopted in this 99 mana battle and how I looked at my monsters on the battlefield.

RULE SET 1 — LOST LEGENDARIES

This is a ruleset where you cannot summon any Legendary unit. All the Legendary cards you have will be disabled and become useless in this ruleset.

So this is the biggest and first restriction that you cannot summon any Legendary card. Instead you can select your Wild and other Frontier cards and make them part of the battle.

Now if you have good cards in your deck besides Legendary cards you can have good survival. But if you have a lineup with more Legendary cards then you will struggle in this type of ruleset.

RULE SET 2 — NOW YOU SEE ME

This is a ruleset where all units whether they belong to allied units or enemy units get the Camouflage ability.

And what does the Camouflage ability do? Units with this ability cannot be directly hit unless they are in the first position.

From this ruleset it becomes clear that the monster card in your first position will be under attack. This means all the attacking units can only hit the first monster because of the Camouflage ability.

So according to this ruleset you have to adopt a strategy where your first three frontline positions must have strong tanks and monsters with good health. Heavy damage will keep coming toward them and it is very possible that your tank monsters will be eliminated quickly.

Therefore according to this ruleset it is better to place your strong tank monsters in the first three positions.

RULE SET 3 — EVEN STEVENS

According to this ruleset there is another restriction. you can only summon units whose mana cost is an even number. This means you cannot select any unit with an odd mana cost because it will be disabled.

Now if you have even mana cards in your deck you will have a chance to survive in this ruleset. But if you have more odd-mana cards then again you may face a struggle.

Therefore according to this ruleset you have to adopt a strategy of selecting your best even mana cards.

MY STRATEGY AND SELECTION ACCORDING TO THESE RULESETS

Looking at all these rulesets what strategy did I adopt which monsters did I select and how did I position them? Let's find out.

First I selected my Archon monster with a monster that has the -1 Health ability. Its job would be to reduce the health of all enemy units by 1 at the beginning of the battle. This would give the enemy opponents a disadvantage because their health would be reduced by 1.

Then as I looked at the ruleset and as I explained I selected high health monsters for the first three positions. My goal was to select the best monster cards available.

In the first position I selected a monster with good health and armor.

In the second position I again placed a strong monster with melee attack and good health.

In the third position I placed a monster with good health. It did not even have any attack power but because at that time I needed a strong tank combination according to the ruleset I selected these three monsters for the first three positions.

After the middle position all the way to the end position I had a lineup of ranged attackers.

I also wanted to select a magic attacker but I did not have enough even mana Magic monsters so I was forced to select three ranged attackers at the end. They would continue attacking the enemy units with an aggressive approach.

ON THE BATTLEFIELD

When I looked at the selection of my units and the enemy units on the battlefield I felt quite relaxed because along with my monster selection my positioning was also very good.

As I explained according to this ruleset your frontline monster will always be the target. All the attacking units will keep targeting the first position because of the Camouflage ability.

The biggest mistake the opponent made was that they placed an attacker in the first position but it could not attack. They placed their strong tank in the second position but it also could not attack because it did not have the Reach ability.

So the enemy's first two monsters were almost useless. Because of this at the beginning of the round I saw my battle lineup as very strong and I was quite satisfied with my setup in this battle.

In Round Two we saw a good competition where both sides continued taking heavy damage.

As soon as Round Three started my strategy worked according to my plan and the enemy's strong tank monster was destroyed.

In Round Four as you can see three of the enemy's units were eliminated. That means their first three frontline monsters were eliminated.

At one point I thought that perhaps I could win this battle while keeping all of my units alive but that did not happen. One of my monsters was eliminated in this battle.

As Round Five arrived another enemy monster was eliminated and at this point all of my units were still surviving while only two enemy units remained.

In Round Five itself one of my strong tank monsters was eliminated but then all of the enemy's units were destroyed. In this way I achieved a very excellent victory in this battle.

It was completely a one sided battle and the biggest reason for my victory was that my monster selection was according to the rulesets and I positioned my monsters according to those rulesets.

Because I adopted a good strategy I achieved a very good victory in the battle.
