I'm Esther Umoren, am 21 years old from Akwa ibom state,NIGERIA..grown up in port Harcourt, born to the family of Mr/Mrs Emmanuel Umoren. My dad is a preacher of the gospel of Christ and we are into commercial farming I let my parent house at the age of 9,growing up with a family friend which turned me to a maid overnight living with a man that had 5 grown up kids and over 7 servants and relatives living with them and I was the smallest has that then doing all the chores(cleaning the house, market, washing of clothes) by the time your done for the day you know what that means..Went to a government school and I have always lived this triangle life, school church and house when I was 13yrs I moved in with my Aunty's daughter that was newly married at port Harcourt, NIGERIA.. was taking care of 3kids everyday, living the life of serving other. At some point I became tired and I needed to leave but never wanted to go back to the village so I kept quiet enduring all the pains there, after my secondary school I asked God for admission to leave their house course I knew that was the only guarantee to me leaving fast..that 17yrs God granted it. Had admission to university of uyo,AKWA IBOM STATE NIGERIA, that was the happiest day of my life. Even after I left for school my aunty never wanted to let me go, she felt I was the only one that understand and could tolerate her kids. I go home every weekend from uyo to ph(port Harcourt), just for chores and the worst part was that the we're not Taking care of my bills, but I was till quiet serving them. Was not bold enough to decline them. Not allowing me to visit my parent because of responsibility, after 9yrs since I left home going back was like a celebration of a lost child that was found. And back home was having difficulty relating with my siblings because I didn't grown up with them, and I discovered that there is nothing so sweet has parent and siblings love and care, it makes me looked healthier even though we were not eating expensive meal. In my 300 level I needed to take the decision of not going back to my aunty because they were not helping matters but sucking me dry and I was loosing focus in school. Which I did it wasn't an easy one, I must confess but God saw me through, I started being independent and also satisfied with what my parent gives me no matter what. I started selling undergarments( pants, singlet, boxers) both male and female and God has always being providing for me. Right now am doing my S.I. W. E. S (Student industrial work experience scheme) and by God's grace I'll be graduating from the department of agricultural and food engineering by next year. life has taught me to be independent, smart and outspoken never depending on man for help but focus on God, he will always send the right people my way.
