Happy Valentine! It's the first day of the second month of the year 2023. Time flies so fast. It's still fresh in my mind what happened last Christmas and New Year's Eve. Now, we are preparing again for red shirts, flowers, and chocolates. But not before me, my professor said we will have an exam next Valentine's Day. I can't argue with that. I need to pass my subject. LOL."

In my blog (WEEKEND For Farmer: Into The Paddy Field) I said that I usually prepare the roughages on Friday afternoons or the mornings of Saturday and Sunday. But today, I did it on Wednesday. My professor in my major subject pinged us via a group chat that we will have a face-to-face meeting next Saturday for the whole day and half of Sunday. I know it is a hassle for her because she works differently and professionally at a law firm, but she still made time for us to understand well and learn not just the lessons required but real lessons of life. This made me realize that I need to get grass for my rabbits to be fed at least until next Sunday.

It's eight in the morning and after I finished my tasks, I am preparing to meet the grasses. Unlike other weeks, the weather is sunny and hot. The first thing I noticed is that the water is receding. The dam is preparing for the summer and the expected ripening of the rice crops in March. It is controlling its water supply to ensure a sufficient supply for residential use next summer.

This also meant t dry out land, reduce the greenery of grasses, next following weeks might find difficult to have fresh grass in the spot of convenience. I do planed to look around in some place where canals and reservoir, where some native grass grew naturally.

I met someone today, a farmer who was cleaning the pathway. We talked for a bit, even though I didn't know him. He seemed friendly. We discussed something strange I saw in his rice field. We both shared our knowledge about hybrid rice varieties. I was impressed by how his plants were growing and I admired his attention to detail in maintaining the cleanliness of his field, the pathway, and removing the weeds.

I am not ashamed when people see me with my muddy feet and a shirt stained with greens, even if I am itchy and smell like sunburn. I admire people who are not ashamed to be farmers. This is my inspiration to study more. I want to prove that farming will lead to something better in the future and that education will result in better greens and a better life.

The fields are in the vegetative stage, with some already maturing. This is what a paddy field looks like, where rice grows from a single grain to maturity. It is a big challenge, especially with pests, as the aroma of the flowers attracts insects. I also saw some farmers manually spraying chemicals, but don't worry, they are only applying pesticides at the vegetative stage and the potency won't last long until it is ready for harvest.

I plan to write a separate blog about this, but I also decided to let some of my rabbits live in a free-range type of confinement. This way, I want to see if there will be good results if I let them breed on their own without my interference. It's a natural selection method.

At the end of the day, I see myself as productive on this Wednesday, despite the sunburn, itching, dust, and everything else. I accomplished my goals for today, and even wrote a blog. I want to make writing and blogging a hobby, to see how productive I can be despite late-night classes, the busy real world, and my rabbits. I believe that soon I will reap the benefits of my hard work.

Wednesday has become my favorite day, after Wednesday Addams. I hope you also have the best day that I did. I'll end here as I need to prepare for my night class. My Wednesday walk ends with the thing I love most, which is studying. Thanks for reading.
