I am so excited to showcase my skills in this lovely community #needleworkmonday this project took me some days before I could accomplished my desired taste, and this is my first time in this lovely community and I hope I am welcome into this community.
THE PROJECT I AM WORKING ON
Today I will be showing us steps on how I make this pompom rug, this is a fashionable rug used for designing your room and also can be used for doormat
MATERIALS USED
- Yarns
- Needle/crotchet pin
- Sack bag
- Scissors
This is the type of yarn I am using for my project.
WHAT REALLY PROMPT THIS PROJECT
It was on a Saturday Evening after work and I decided to explore the internet for new idea, I watched a video of a lady make this pompom rug on YouTube and I have the urge for making new things so I decided to go to the nearest mall and get the yarns and try it out I gathered all the materials on Saturday because most stores will not open on Sunday here in my country, so I started the work yesterday which was on Sunday and I finished up today and decided to post it on this platform and it really came out nice
Firstly I make my pompom through the yarn, wrap the yarn across your palm depending on your preference, I rolled the yarn across my palm 50-60 times
Then remove the yarn from your palm and cut a piece from your yarn to tight the removed yarn
Tight the yarn in the middle like two to three times in order not make it strong and not to remove
The next step is to cut the knotted yarn around
This is the outcome of my yarn, after forming the pompom hold the edges together and trim with a scissors so that all the edges will be even.
This is the process you will apply to all the yarns till you finish them, it took me two days to complete this work, although I had breaks in between like going out or preparing meals at home.
After acquiring all the pompom from the yarns then the next step is to attach it to your rug, you can either use a sack bag or a mesh mat or rug liners, cut your material according to your desired shape it can be rectangle, circle or square shape, but mine is in circular shape.
Firstly I started by arranging my colors the way I want before attaching it permanently to the sack, this process can take up to a day because you wouldn't want to make what will not suite your taste in arrangement, I want my pompom to be colorful and mature.
This is the first layer of arrangements and it is so colorful because I mixed all the colors together.
This is the second layer and you can all see how beautiful it is.
I love trying out new things, at first I may not get the exact thing I am looking for but I will know that I already have the idea so that the next time I will try it will be a work over for me but this pom-pom rug came out nice because this is my first try though I love crotchet work very well and I believe you will all see me exploring this community with my different project on knitting.
Thank you all for having me in this community, I love you all, please try and comment and make corrections where necessary because I am just learning and I wish to learn from you all.
