Hello hiver 馃挒馃挒馃挒,
It my pleasure to be here in #hive learner's community, it actually my first time participating in this community contest and this week edition #hl-w10e3 with the topic FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
Freedom of speech is when you are free to express you mind even in public without been held guilty for speaking,Freedom of speech is when everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Here in Nigeria my beloved country there is what we called right to speech in the Constitution, meaning everyone is free to say their mind openly but it really unfortunately that in Nigeria my dear country right to speech is only written in the Constitution but not allowed to express.
Here in Nigeria we there citizens are underestimate to the point where you can talk even if you have the point, even if you are saying the truth you are not allowed to voice out especially if you are not a recognize personality in the country.
The truth must be told here in Nigeria you will only here the voice of the politicians, those in power and wealthy personnel's, for instance if the governor is coming to a function he will beat down the traffic and other vehicles will not be allowed to pass when the governor is passing why he is in power, mean why everyone is supposed to obey the traffic light except those on emergency condition.
Another instance is that currently now there is no federal universities in Nigeria that has been operating for the past four months now in this year and this is not the first time this is happening infact it now a normal thing that universities lectures will go on strike due to the fact that the federal government is owing the a lot of money and nobody will talk about it, if the youths tries to make protest against the fact that there is no school the federal government will send in police to shot, beat and mess them up. So now people now die for speaking their mind, loss property and even feel depressed and hopeless because you dare not speak the truth publicly.
I don't believe there is freedom of speech in my dear country Nigeria, I call it my dear country because I still believe God can change things for us the citizens of this country.
Thanks for reading my post please feel free to comment and do well to stop by next time thanks once again
