I remember the time when I seriously thought about practicing and rendering my skills in graphics and arts but I had no beginning point at all. I have always wondered how such people could just sit down and make good artwork and I wished to be like them. Still, I never felt that I was gifted in that aspect as much as in other areas of school curriculum. However, the desire to explore this facet did not go unheeded and so I decided to take a leap and see what comes out of it in the end.

I was able to spend some money in some of the minimum materials for drawing as well as search for tutorial videos online to help me get through it. I first began by drawing basic shapes and lines and stretched up to drawing different objects. In the beginning my sketches were more like doodles; still, this was not going to stop me. I kept practicing, which entailed devoting my time and effort to my work in order to build more skills as well as better my technique.

I then started to realize there was improvements as I progressed in my practice. The lines I drew turned out more refined and my proportions were more precise; I felt more assured about my work when doing each successive sketch. It was fun to start with an idea and build it up and see it mature to what it turned out to be on paper. And so I understood that it was not a talent but actual hard work that is to be put in for making good drawings.

At this stage of my drawing journey that has been going on for several months now, I have the reason to be proud. Originally, I felt scared when facing a blank page, and now I can only be surprised at the growth I have made. This is a feeling that is very fulfilling knowing that without any materials other than a pencil and paper, one is capable of making something that is so lovely.

Drawing has been one of the most satisfying things that I have ever learned and I am very glad for this chance. One most important lesson that I have gained from this lesson is that anybody can draw, irrespective to their ability or lack of it. I pray to continue my education and find out where the journey will lead me.
