I remember growing up as a child, my mum made me join the children's choir in our church, yes she made me I never wanted to join the choir but she saw no use in me following her for her choir practice and just sitting in the car when I could easily join the children rehearsal that goes on at the same time. So I had to join.

I wasn't happy that I had to join the choir, not because I wasn't a good singer I know I had a good voice but because I knew my day of fancy clothes was over. The only thing my mother gets for me that involved clothes were choir uniforms. which was the usual BLACK SKIRT and WHITE SHIRTS although our shawl was occasionally changed but the black and white were constant.
So I had 3 or more black skirts and over 5 white shirts because every Christmas or important occasion that I need new cloth my mother just feels it would be a waste of money to buy anything other than my uniform since every Sunday I wear them and besides if I wasn't at home I would be in the boarding school.
when I complained she got smart at buying the clothes, she would get probably a white shirt and jeans, something different, or a black skirt and a colored top. But somehow I would end up with a black skirt and white shirt .😂
As a child, we joked about how all my clothes could fit into a box, even if I don't take it all, I won't notice because I had loads of the same clothes
Wondering where this story is leading to ?I presume.
Well the minimalist post idea of the weekoption 4 asks
When you find a shirt or a pair of trousers or any item of clothes that you like, do you buy two or three of the same?
Now I am all grown up, married, and a woman of my own, so my clothes choices are solely mine, one will think I would go extravagant considering the minimalist wardrobe choices I had as a child but thankfully I got stuck with the same routine and it has been amazing.

I purchase two or three of the same thing mostly in colors..looking at my wardrobe right now I have more than 4 black skirts and trousers, the same in texture but different in length and I can rock them with literally everything I own except gowns.
Same with my polo shirts, I have about white polo shirts, just because I can wear white with anything and any color.
what are the advantages of doing this to keep a minimalist wardrobe.
The greatest advantage it has given me is less stress, and more time for me, knowing exactly all I have in my wardrobe and knowing what I am going to wear before I even open the wardrobe saves me lots of time.
I could tell my partner what to get from my wardrobe for me and he gets exactly what I want, with no stress.
Another advantage is how it gives you identity if you see someone with the usual black pants or skirts you most likely would guess correctly that I am the one coming. some people have built their brands online using the same color of shirt for their content it may seem like there have one shirt but they just have the same color of different shirts and if you see them anywhere you can easily identify them by how they are built the brand.
I get to save a lot of money when I buy the same set of clothes in two’s or threes because most time buying multiple reduces the price. One could cost $12 but two could cost $20 instead of $24...then you realize that you may have saved over $1000 from your budget for clothing in a year.
Isn’t that beautiful?
The advantages are endless but the theme says “keeping it short and simple” #KISS. So I would stop here and invite @peaq to tell us about her wardrobe choices, as you can tell a lot about a person from their clothes.
