Hello ladies
Hope we are good and having a great week?Mine has been hectic but I try to create time for myself.
So for this week's prompt, I choose to answer question 2
What are your thoughts of a "house husband?"Would you be okay with a relationship where roles were reversed?
First I would like to say that I am African and as much I claim to be civilized and are letting go of most of our norms and traditions, there are just some things that just cannot change, well for me though and this topic is one of it.

House husband to my understanding is when the Husband is a stay home dad or partner, with no work or means of earning in view. the wife brings the money, and the husband care for the home and children if any .well the typical term is called SHH (stay -home -husband). So I would be using the word SHH a lot as you read along.
Like I said before I am African and one major thing that our culture depicts is a husband as the Head of the family, because if the situation of SHH is applied it means the role has been reversed and the wife becomes the head of the family. Traditional it's not allowed even spiritually if I must add, that wasn't Gods original design. I know lots of people will be shocked at my opinion as a 21st-century woman but there is just somethings that just shouldn't be no matter how much we try to sweet talk the issue, it always doesn't feel right to me.
in as much as I am against the idea, sadly it has become our reality, I do not understand if it's because some men are getting too relaxed or it's the fact that most women are pushing themselves to become better #breakingthebias.
well I know two families where the husbands had become SHH. the first one was because he was earning lesser and they didn't want to get a nanny for the children so he decided to quit and stay back, while the wife works. the other family chose this path because the labor market is not smiling and after years of them searching for a job, the wife got one and the husband was unlucky so he had to stay home for the kids.

I understand that in both cases, the decision was made based on the circumstances they found themselves but let's analyze both cases
Husband one
Quit his job just because he is earning less and stays home to care for the kids who are 4 and 6 by the way. Sincerely guys are this a wise move? If he earns $3000 and his wife earns $7000 that is $10000 compare to what they are earning now. I believe no matter who earns more or less both partners should be able to provide for the home. There are remote jobs he could easily take rather than stay home and not contribute in the name of HOUSE HUSBAND
Just saying
Husband 2
After year's of searching no job,It is very understandable, but there are businesses he could do to support the family, even without capital. If he wants capital there are so many funding opportunities and grants and so much more he can do rather than wait for the labor market.
There may be more to the story in these two cases and obviously I am concluding base on what I was told. The last I heard from both couples, they are doing perfectly well with their little arrangement. A typical case of one man's meat is another man's poison
In conclusion
It is very ok for every husband to want to assist with the chores, cooking, caring for the home and especially the kids but it becomes a problem to me if that's all he is doing and leaving the financial burden for the partner because if the wife is solely bringing money and not caring for the home in some way too I bet you it would be a problem for some families.

I see how Stay home mothers these days contribute financially to the home so should stay home husbands.
so yes I would agree to the concept of a househusband if and only if financially his duties are intact and fulfilled.
I like to invite @peaq and
@reineesmay to tell me what they think about the concept house husband. And finally shout out, to all ladies bearing the financial burden of the home alone. (standing ovation).
