Hola amigos Especiales!
Today I will talk about something different, although always within the context that concerns us, Autism.
The subject of death is not at all easy and it is even more complicated when it is someone close to us. First of all, we need to take into account that, for those of us who believe in creation, we were made in the divine image and likeness, that is, we were made to be eternal. That when men decided to disobey, it was they who through frequent actions against their temple (the body) has been cutting their health, their time of life.

When someone dies, our whole being is shaken by the simple fact that internally, even today, there is a kind of ignorance in our being, a rejection of this fact because even though, as it is often said today, "Dying is part of life", our inner self refuses to accept it and we cry and feel disconsolate.
Taking the above into consideration and going into the subject that brought us here, I want to tell you that a few days ago Mom passed away and I want to share with you the way my children reacted to this fact.
It is not beneficial to keep them away from the "fact of death".
While it is true that some children are stronger than others and that each life event is received by each one according to their personality, it is also true that if they have had in advance, information related to the different "stages" of life, including "death" as part of them, the chances of a better response would be even greater.
Our children need us to give them tools to strengthen them emotionally so that when they are involved in such a sad moment as death or separation, it affects them as little as possible.
When my mother passed away, I received the news via WhatsApp and as we had not had electricity, I had not been able to read and listen to what my brother and sister-in-law had left in my mailbox and I found out late.
At the very moment I read and listened, I started to cry without realising that one of the twins was standing nearby and it was at a moment when I turned around and saw him with his expectant face, pacing back and forth that I said to myself, what am I doing, I have to tell them.
I felt it wasn't fair for them to see me like that, without context. Without having to call them because they had already come to my side, I told them that their grandmother had passed away and that was why I was crying. They already knew that mum was very old and that she was also feeling a bit sick with the heat in Paraguay because I had already told them about it on another occasion, so when I told them the news, Isaac put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Don't worry Esther, she won't be hot anymore and she'll be fine".
At home we have always perceived death as a dream from which you wake up renewed in another place, without sadness or anguish. Mom taught us that if you are sick and the outcome is death because there is nothing more you can do, what remains for us, those of us who are left around here, is to be at peace. Cry as much as we need to but remain calm because the person will no longer suffer, that if he had stayed with us longer he would not have been well, much less happy and that it would even be a selfish act to want to keep him here knowing of his suffering, and so, in this way I have made all my children see it.
Talking about death with our children, coldly; making them aware of this reality will allow them to understand what at some point in life, we will have to face as living beings. If we do not do it, sustaining a false idea of protection, instead of a favor, we will be creating a weakness for which they will not have the tools.
The absence of a loved one may be a strong subject to deal with, but if we talk to them little by little, using words that they understand and that they can relate to in their daily lives, they will be able to digest it in such a way that they could even become a comfort to others through their words.
