"Oh God! What have I done" I said as I looked at the small mirror on the wall and saw Mark's blood splattered all over my face. Shaking, I began to wash off his blood with water but there were still some traces of his blood on my face. Quickly I picked up my purse and phone from the floor and tip-toed around his lifeless body on the floor. I looked at his body. I knew my life was ruined. Hearing some distant chatter, I came out of the restroom and walked back to the bar to pay off my bill. The bartender asked if I would pay mark's bill, but I told the bartender that Mark would come to offset his bill soon.

So I left the bar as fast as I could, as I began to feel my anxiety attack set in. Though for years now, I hadn't had a panic attack and now it is like all the years of no panic attack wash over me like a waterfall rushing at it's full current which was threatening to snuff life out of me. As I fought to breathe, I stopped in an alley to catch my breath and suddenly I got the shivering chills. I felt like someone was watching me. I looked around and there was Mark behind me in an alley directly opposite to where I was. I thought he was dead, but there he is, right in front of me on the street, smiling at me with the wounds inflicted on him, a slight frown and an apologetic grimace.

As he stood there looking at me I noticed He was wearing clothes that were different from the ones he wore this evening. I wonder if he can tell what I’m thinking. If he is really the one? What should I do? Should I say something to him? Should I run away and never look back? Then he smiles at me again, but it’s different from his normal smile, and not one that I think I’ve ever seen on his face before. A small tear rolls down my cheek, and I quickly brush it away. He tilts his head curiously for a moment, then says something in a foreign language. Is he talking to me? Who is this guy?

Then he turns abruptly and starts walking away, disappearing into the dark part of the alley. His hair flutters behind him like he’s about to fly off into the sky. Is he going to leave after what I did to him? Then in a single heartbeat, he was just gone! Just vanished into thin air! How is this possible?! Am I dreaming? Was I hit by a car? There’s no way…

A car roars past me, throwing up dust and gravel as it zooms toward the intersection where he had disappeared. The noise stops abruptly, and I look around warily. There are still cars on the road. So I put out my hand for a cab and immediately got into the cab and gave the driver my home address. Still shivering from a cold that I don't know where it was coming from, I asked the driver if he could go any faster than he was going. So he did as I said and within 20 mins, I was home.

I paid the driver and ran inside, almost tripping over my own feet. So I locked the door and collapsed on my couch. My whole being seemed numb as I watched the news with muted sound effects playing across my living room. Then all of a sudden, my lamp that was off flickered on and my heart skipped a beat. Trying to see why it turned on by itself, all the lights in my house went all out too. Everything seemed dark and all I saw was pitch black.

"Hello?" My voice came out breathy, high-pitched. It became so cold that I began to shiver as I tried to make my way blindly to the kitchen for a match and a candle, I heard a squeaking sound from the door, I froze and then I said out loud, "Whoever you are, I have a gun and I won't hesitate to shoot!" With that, I accidentally bumped into my coffee table and I felt the most unimaginable pain shoot up from my toe through my spine to my head. "Shit!" I cursed.

Squeaking sounds

Then my door flung open with an invisible force revealing Mark just standing there with Blood all over his face, and he looked like he hadn't slept in days. There was a wound on his cheek and on his bottom lip. I'd inflicted the wounds on him before he fell off hitting his head on the toilet seat which left him with a cracked skull. Looking at me with a grimace frown he began to slowly walk towards me. Being scared for my life, I began to echo his moves backwards also and still maintain eye contact while looking for something to carry to defend myself. Then I blinked and he was gone.

I looked everywhere for him and I didn't see him but then in a blink of my eyes, he appeared again in front of me, so close that I could feel his icy, eerie and hollow breath on my face. Seeing such dismay, I let out a high-pitched scream, and then I found myself back in my reality, breathing hard, covered in my sweat and wrapped in my sheets.

"It was all a dream."
