This section is a part of the Splinterlands DEC Guide. In this section we are going to see various ways player can accumulate DEC token.
Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) is the native token of the Splinterlands. This token is how the game is monetized internally for rewarding the players. There are multiple ways to earn the DEC token.
This step requires the player to purchase Summoner's Spellbook. If the player has this spellbook, it helps them earn DEC for every match they win. Like most of the card games this game too has the Ranked Mode. Here you are playing the ranked matches against other players.
Higher league gameplay will also affect the DEC value. Ranking points in the Ranked matches have another value that is affected on your DEC. The player who you are matched up against will have it's effect on your DEC earned. Player also gets rewarded in the increase in value based on winning stream. Winning streak is calculated everyday and the player is rewarded accordingly. e.g. 3 win streak gets rewarded accordingly.
DEC Capture Rate has huge effect on the DEC value. It is like HIVE Power that updates based on each Ranked match. And your DEC earn rate gets affected. Each day depending on spent rate, the value would update itself.
In this step, player has to win the daily random quests allocated to the players.These daily quest rewards expect you to win minimum 5 Ranked matches. Each of those quests require you to use specific set of the cards. Like say, Earth quest requires you to win minimum 5 Ranked matches with those cards. You can win these battles within 24 hours and you don't have to win them in one-go.
The daily quest rewards also includes the Loot Chests which can be won after completing the quest rewards. Players can purchase the charge and then increase the loot chests in the daily quests. Every day the quest rewards reset and come up with different card quests for players to complete.
Splinterlands has a leaderboard with various levels included in it. Where each level in the leaderboard would give you specific set of the rewards. Each season runs for upto 16 days. The levels in the season are as follows - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Champion.
Each season sets your placement in this leaderboard and at the end of the season rewards are distributed. In the next season you'd fall back to the previous level in the leaderboard. The reset takes into account your previous seasons placement and loot chests in mind for the new position.
As explained earlier, loot chest rewards are calculated on the basis of the league of the player. DEC value in the Loot Chest would vary based on the DEC burn rate and the rarity burn rate.
These are some of the ways through which Splinterlands DEC can be earned. Splinterland also has the HIVE front-end named Splintertalk that allows you to share the progress and the splinterlands specific content that can help player earn the SPT token on the top of the DEC earned in the game. DEC and SPT both tokens can be traded on Tribaldex, Hive Engine and other Splinterlands supported markets.
