So, I am 27 years old, right, and in my early years I held very strong anti-government positions. I was quite the rebel (might I add) and even today I still hold many of these beliefs. Sure. I was somewhat similar to them, wondering why there wasn't positive change, why were weren't as free as what we were told in public school.

Was I betrayed? Sure, but I understood one very important thing. You can't trust the government. I think these progressives also thought about the same thing, but their solution was opposite of mine. My solution was to remove the government's power, to decrease taxes and decrease the number of regulatory limitations in not just economic issues but also social issues. Yet, the progressive movement didn't fully come on board with that idea.

Did they want to dismantle the government structures? So, they say, but really what they want is to empower the same deceiving government that they loathe so much. For example... They always highlight that the US government is a racist institution and that we should dismantle all racist institutions... Meanwhile they support gun control, which gun control was primarily established in modern times as a result of the Black Panther Movement becoming more influential because they wanted to arm minorities (specifically, the black population). There's a clear contradiction. If they want to dismantle racist systems of oppression, then they would defend a black man's gun rights to carry an AR-15. Yet they don't.

The entire goal of the Progressive Movement isn't what they claim, they believe they are doing things with good intentions, but the unintended consequence of their advocacy reveals that they want to EMPOWER these government institutions and empower them to have control over minorities businesses (not just white businesses).

Most of their arguments come from a place of emotion and so too do their solutions. They have a backwards mindset and a skewed form of logic. They have no accurate or effective predictors of government tyranny, as it seems.
