Today I want to write to you about love. The love that unites, that gladdens, that edifies and that makes happy.

En mi introducción a Hive les mencioné que tengo cuatro (4) hijos. Una hermosa nena y tres galanes. El mayor y el menor de los varones viven conmigo. El otro formó su hogar y ya tiene dos retoñitos hermosos. Mi hijita se casó y vive en otra localidad en las afueras de la ciudad donde estamos nosotros. Queda a una distancia aproximada de tres horas por carretera. Aún así ella se toma un tiempito para venir a casa a visitarnos. Su presencia logra que nuestros días sean bastante diferentes, rompiendo así con la rutina. Ella ama a sus hermanos y siempre inventa maneras de complacerlos. En una oportunidad vino muy emocionada porque estaba aprendiendo nuevas recetas de repostería y quería compartirlas con nosotros ¡Y nos preparó de todo! Eso fue pura algarabía en la cocina observando la habilidad que demostraba al mezclar los diferentes ingredientes a la vez que conversábamos acerca de los tips que empleaba para personalizar sus creaciones. Recuerdo que hasta uno de sus sobrinos la ayudó a amasar. Fue muy divertido. Nos preparó donas, rosquillas, torta, tequeños. Le quedaron realmente deliciosos.

In my introduction to Hive I mentioned to you that I have four (4) children. One beautiful baby girl and three boys. The oldest and the youngest of the boys live with me. The other one started his own home and already has two beautiful offspring. My daughter got married and lives in another town outside the city where we are. It is about a three hour drive away. She still takes time to come home to visit us. Her presence makes our days quite different, breaking the routine. She loves her siblings and is always inventing ways to please them. On one occasion she came very excited because she was learning new baking recipes and wanted to share them with us and she made us everything! That was pure excitement in the kitchen as we watched the skill she showed in mixing the different ingredients while we talked about the tips she used to personalize her creations. I remember one of her nephews even helped her with the kneading. It was a lot of fun. She made us donuts, doughnuts, cake, tequeños. They were really delicious.

En otra de sus visitas salimos a comprar telas (porque también se dedica a la costura) . Como llegó el mediodía y aún no habíamos terminado las diligencias nos dirigimos al modesto puesto de una joven que vende tequeños muy sabrosos y ahí comimos para recargar fuerzas y seguir la faena. Así que nos fuimos a un supermercado que habían inaugurado recientemente y queríamos conocer. Recorrimos el local, comparamos precios, y también disfrutamos del buen ambiente que hay allí. Luego salimos y me invitó a comer helado en un lugar que está ubicado casi al frente del supermercado. Nos deleitamos con sus ricos y variados sabores. Al terminar nos dirigimos a casa.

In another of her visits we went out to buy fabrics (because she is also a seamstress). As it was noon and we had not yet finished the errands we went to the modest stall of a young woman who sells very tasty tequeños and there we ate to recharge our batteries and continue the task. So we went to a supermarket that had recently opened and that we wanted to visit. We toured the store, compared prices, and also enjoyed the good atmosphere there. Then we went out and he invited me to eat ice cream at a place that is located almost in front of the supermarket. We were delighted with its rich and varied flavors. When we finished we headed home.

No puedo dejar de mencionar la ocasión en la que nos visitó y quiso preparar unos perros calientes. Les pidió a sus hermanos que la acompañaran a comprar todo lo que se necesitaba para hacerlos. Así que otra vez logró unirnos para tan delicioso momento. Eso fue otro motivo de alegría y ocurrencias porque cada uno opinaba cómo debían prepararse. Uno de mis hijos que tiene bastante habilidad en la cocina se encargó de cortar los ingredientes. Mi hijita preparó unas exquisitas salsas. Mi otro hijo y yo nos encargamos de rellenar los panes. Umm... todo quedó súper. Ah, y aunque en casa ya no bebemos refresco ese día rompimos la dieta y compramos uno. Luego tomamos unas fotitos y...¡a comer!

I can't fail to mention the time when she visited us and wanted to make some hot dogs. She asked her siblings to go with her to buy everything needed to make them. So once again she managed to bring us together for such a delicious moment. That was another reason for joy and witticisms because everyone had their own opinion on how they should prepare them. One of my children, who is quite skilled in the kitchen, was in charge of cutting the ingredients. My little daughter prepared some delicious sauces. My other son and I were in charge of stuffing the breads. Umm... everything turned out great. Then we took some pictures and...let's eat!

En otra oportunidad llegó con el firme propósito de llevar a su sobrino mayor al parque. Y así fue. Preparamos todo en casa, luego pasamos buscando al niño, de allí fuimos al supermercado a comprar unos snacks. Después caminamos hasta el parque que nos queda relativamente cerca. Íbamos hablando y echando chistes. Al llegar fue verdaderamente divertido. Ella se rió con todas las ocurrencias del pequeño. Pasearon y disfrutaron juntos tal cual como ella quería. Así que mi hija con el amor que nos demuestra es el hilo que nos une como familia. Tiene el don de venir a casa e iluminarla con su presencia. Si estamos desanimados, nos anima. Si estamos contentos, ella añade más alegría. Si tenemos algún problema, ella aporta soluciones. Y cuando viene, mis otros hijos siempre están pendientes y nos reunimos en casa. Constantemente le agradezco a Dios por haberme dado estos cuatro tesoros. Y, aunque cada uno posee rasgos propios de su personalidad, todos tienen en común ese algo único y especial: el amor de familia.

Another time he came with the firm intention to take his oldest nephew to the park. And so it was. We prepared everything at home, then we went looking for the child, from there we went to the supermarket to buy some snacks. Then we walked to the park, which is relatively close to us. We were talking and making jokes. When we got there it was really funny. She laughed at all the little boy's jokes. They walked and enjoyed together just as she wanted. So my daughter with the love she shows us is the thread that binds us together as a family. She has the gift of coming home and brightening up the house with her presence. If we are discouraged, she cheers us up. If we are happy, she adds more joy. If we have a problem, she brings solutions. And when she comes, my other children are always attentive and we gather at home. I constantly thank God for giving me these four treasures. And although each one has his or her own personality traits, they all have in common something unique and special: the love of family.
