About two weeks ago I saw a post on Leofinance, it was a call to action kind a post, trying to explain users why Leofinance is 33 on the witness list and what should be done, how can we help. Today I wanted to check what has changed since then. Let me tell you what's changed: NOTHING! Absolutely nothing! Leo is still 33 on the witness list, hasn't moved one bit. Is it surprising? Of course it is but if you know the sad truth, you won't be surprised at all.
The beauty of blockchain technology is that everything is traceable, visible you can check who does what, so I listed the newly created posts and started to check users our to see who they are voting as witness. My suspicions were confirmed in about 10 minutes, not that I needed proof.
What is sad is that you see users here all day, every day, being the biggest voice, always trying to prove they are the best supporters, always posting about how good Leo is, how they are investing in Leo because it's best platform on the blockchain. A good part of them are here to milk the reward poor as giving back is not in their best interest. Why would it it be? Why bother to do anything for the community when you can collect rewards, use it for your own benefit, then post about what you've bought with it to get more rewards, right?
How many times we see users defining earnings as free internet money. Is it really free? Why do they think everything is free here and they are entitled to it? Why do they think being a member of the community means you're free to do whatever you pelase and you have no responsibilities?
Well, let me tell you something. Nothing is free, everything has a price and everyone has responsibilities here, no matter how big or small your stake is.
Casting your witness vote takes 1 minute, the most and you only have to do it once, then check the list from time to time to see who's active and who's not. No special effort is needed here.
Can anyone tell me please why are people voting witnesses like oracle-d, tasteem, nextgencrypto, steemcommunity, c-squared just to name a few?
- oracle-d disabled 1 year ago,
- tasteem disabled 2 years ago,
- nextgencrypto disabled 9 months ago,
- steemcommunity disabled 2 years ago,
- c-squared disabled 5 months ago
- steemhut there's no such witness
- partico there's no such witness.
Can anyone tell me why some people are voting only for 5 - 6 witnesses when there are 30 witness votes available for every user? Aren't the others worthy for their upvotes. Do these users know the blockchain can't function with 5 or 6 witnesses? Do they actually care?
Can anyone tell me why certain users are not voting for witnesses at all? Isn't there any witness to fit your expectations?
If you're curious to see who fits the shoe, here's the link where you can check users out. Replace yourusername with the username you want to check and go ahead, see for yourself. Also feel free to contribute, if you think Leofinance deserve it. Speak to those you know and tell them in person what benefits voting for witnesses has.
I'd advise you to check your witness list here. See what needs to be changed and if you have spare votes, see who else you can support with your votes.
You can opt to list only the disabled witnesses, that makes it more easier to check your list. In case you're using a proxy, make sure your proxy is voting witnesses you approve. Trusting the inappropriate proxy has its price as well.
Doing nothing while waiting to get rich is not what we do here.
What do you think? Can we make Leofinance one of the consensus witnesses?
