If you are in Vienna, Austria, you may want to visit the Soprano Restaurant, Café, Bar.
We wanted to taste the famous schnitzel, which originated from Austria and along with the apple strudel, it's a must if you're in Austria.
Soprano looked like the perfect place to taste the schnitzel. It has a nice terrace that offers you the possibility to enjoy your food while enjoying the atmosphere.
The original schnitzel is made of beef but that was a bit pricy at €18.90, so I chose the pork schnitzel with potato salad, which was only €12.90
Before you start screaming that it's too big, relax. The plate and the schnitzel are indeed big but the schnitzel is so thin that you can eat it all. It was delicious.
I had a vegetable salad with it as that's always a must. it was a decent serving with mixed vegetables (tomato, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage and rukola). It was the perfect combunation as you know, we should eat at least five colors and this had all and tasted good as well.
This is the original Wiener Schnitzel with French fries and ketchup. The ketchup was a surprise but it was fine as it wasn't mine.
Cordon Bleu with French fries and ketchup, again.
This is the goulash soup which is originally from Hungary but you can have it in Vienna as well as Austria was part of the Austro Hungarian Empire. This was a decent soup, exactly what one can expect from a goulash soup, gulyás leves in Hungarian.
Wiener Melange, Viennese Blend. I was told it was good and i guess those who like this kind of cappuccino like drink would have loved it. I gave up drinking coffee but even so, I'm an espresso fan.
The menu was a bit of disappointment. I don't like these plastic wrapped menus, it looks awful and feels even more awful but there's nothing you can do.
The food was very good, I can't complain. The prices are a bit high but once in a lifetime one can afford it, right? The place is right next to the underground, so you can't miss it.
