Regarding what you mentioned, I think that’s one of the reasons why there’s so much unfair toxicity from fans of a work when it’s adapted for the big screen.

So many can't understand that you, as a filmmaker, can't follow the book 100% and at the end of the day, why should you? The main idea has to be the same and major details, but it can deviate a little. Anyway, it depends on the person.
