I hope everyone knows this amazing flower, if not, this is the lily of the valley.

For me it's a symbol of spring among the other flowers as it flowers only once, during spring, mostly at the end of April, beginning of May, it depends on the weather.

It has a very special fragrance which is used in the cosmetics industry. I remember when i was a kid my mother had lily of the valley soap, deodorant and my grandmother had eau de toilette with that fragrance.

All parts of the plant are highly poisonous, including the red berries which may be attractive to children. If ingested—even in small amounts—the plant can cause abdominal pain, vomiting, reduced heart rate, blurred vision, drowsiness, and red skin rashes. source

The biggest problem is that the lily of the valley's leaves are very similar to ramson (Allium ursinum), which is an edible plant. Ramson flower is very different from the lily of the valley flower, that is why it's advisable to collect ramson when it's flowering, in order to avoid mistakes.

I had a great aunt who had some lily of the valley in her garden and she called me very year to go get some flowers. Unfortunately she passed away last September and her garden is now abandoned.

My dad has some as well, so these photos were taken there.

This is my entry to SeasonChallenge #29 - 🌹Spring🌹 hosted by my dear friend @roxy-cat.
