Bayan-Unjuul is a sum of Tuv Province in Mongolia. Established in 1973 in the Great Khairkhan mine center, in the former Daichin Beis khoshuu of Tusheet Khan province.
It is 30 km south-east of the center of the Bayanbaraat soum center. 155 km from Ulaanbaatar, 130 km from the aimag center, and the area is 479,000 hectares. source
Now you may ask what on earth I'm doing in Bayan-Unjuul, which would be the normal reaction. I'm not doing anything there, up until a few hours ago I had no idea this place exists, let alone go there.
I got a notification on my phone sent by the weather forecast app I'm using, saying there's a storm coming. It looked odd as the sun was shining, no clouds visible with the naked eye either. I checked it again and saw the weather forecast indicates a storm in Bayan-Unjuul, which now I know it's in Mongolia, or in other words, at the other side of the world.
Why did I get this erroneous message? I don't know but my first thought was my phone got hacked somehow. It may sound paranoiac but who can blame me after we see these things online every day.
First I refreshed the weather forecast to see if it's showing me Bayan-Unjuul again, but it didn't. After refreshing it I got the proper weather forecast for my city, which is kind of automated as the app locates me automatically. Next I
checked a few things on my phone to see if there's anything strange but it wasn't. At this point I tend to believe it's a glitch.
Technology is helping us these days more than ever, we're able to pay with our phone, use chips implanted under our skin and how many more. But this is a double edge sword, it can turn against us, or others can use it for their advantage, not necessarily for good purposes.
There are signs that must be taken seriously as neglecting to act when it's time can cause you lose everything you've worked for. There was a case not long ago on Hive, that I don't want to mention in details, but the user got ripped off because their phone got stolen and the hackers cleared out his the user's banc account too.
I saw a post the other day about millions stolen as SIM cards were cloned, but can't find the post, don't remember who posted it. Regardless, you can never be too careful.
I'm being notified constantly by my email provider that someone is trying to log into my account from countries I've never been to. It's obvious that people are trying.
We're living in a digital world and there are many things bigger than us, not many can keep up with the developments. Security requires attention, so don't be lazy, do the right thing and if you can manage on your own, ask help from someone you trust.
