Hello reader friends! Today I bring you the review of one of the books I bought at the fair and I finished it right away because it is gripping. I'm talking about Neuronas enamoradas by the author Macarena Iara Garc铆a.
La historia tiene como protagonista a Rina Monroe, una neurocirujana que dedica su vida al hospital donde trabaja y a sus pacientes. Ella ama todo lo que sea investigaci贸n y estar en los momentos de acci贸n en su profesi贸n. Sin embargo, sus deseos se ven alterados cuando su mentor le dice que se va a jubilar y la quiere a ella como la nueva jefa de residentes, ella no quiere decepcionarlo y termina aceptando a pesar de que su sue帽o nunca fue ense帽ar, este era el de su compa帽era de trabajo y amiga, Camille. Pero, llegar al puesto no ser谩 tan f谩cil, ya que hay otro candidato, Sebastian Van Genell, su ex compa帽ero de universidad, ex mejor amigo y ex casi algo. Ellos se terminaron distanciando por un mal entendido y ahora, despu茅s de muchos a帽os, se volver谩n a enfrentar en esta competencia por el puesto de residentes. 驴Quedar谩n cenizas donde hubo fuego? 驴Podr谩 Rina ser sincera con su coraz贸n o seguir谩 a su cerebro?
The story stars Rina Monroe, a neurosurgeon who dedicates her life to the hospital where she works and her patients. She loves everything research and being in the action moments of her profession. However, her desires are altered when her mentor tells her that he is retiring and wants her as the new chief resident, she does not want to disappoint him and ends up accepting even though her dream was never to teach, this was that of her co-worker and friend, Camille. But, getting to the position won't be so easy, as there is another candidate, Sebastian Van Genell, her former college roommate, former best friend and former almost something. They ended up drifting apart due to a misunderstanding and now, after many years, they will face each other again in this competition for the position of resident. Will ashes remain where there was fire? Will Rina be able to be sincere with her heart or will she follow her brain?
Este es un libro que ten铆a much铆simas ganas de leer porque tiene todo lo que me gusta, comedia, romance, rivals to lovers, trama de hospital y referencias a Taylor Swift. As铆 que era una lectura casi obligatoria que no me decepcion贸 para nada.
This is a book I was really, really looking forward to reading because it has everything I love, comedy, romance, rivals to lovers, hospital plot and Taylor Swift references. So it was almost a must read that didn't disappoint me at all.
La primera parte la le铆 super r谩pido, ten铆a muchas ganas de llegar al encuentro entre Rina y Sebastian, aunque se hizo esperar un poco. El reencuentro estuvo bien, pero sent铆 que le falt贸 un poco m谩s de emoci贸n, despu茅s de todo se separaron abruptamente, sin explicaciones de por medio, y no se volvieron a ver hasta ese momento. Esperaba m谩s drama. Como en toda trama de este estilo, el conflicto hubiera sido algo de soluci贸n r谩pida si los personajes se hubieran sentado a hablar sobre lo que sucedi贸 en lugar de huir sin mayores explicaciones. Pero bueno, sino no existir铆a este libro.
I read the first part super fast, I was really looking forward to the meeting between Rina and Sebastian, although it was a bit of a wait. The reunion was okay, but I felt it lacked a little more emotion, after all they separated abruptly, with no explanations in between, and didn't see each other again until that moment. I was expecting more drama. As in any plot of this style, the conflict would have been something of a quick solution if the characters had sat down to talk about what happened instead of running away without further explanation. But well, otherwise this book wouldn't exist.
Rina me sac贸 de quicio en m谩s de una ocasi贸n, ella era una negadora serial que no atend铆a a las razones a pesar de ser tan mental. Su filosof铆a de vida era seguir a su cerebro antes que a su coraz贸n, pero esto la hizo estancarse un poco y dejar de lado sus planes a futuro que ten铆a en una lista.
Rina got on my nerves on more than one occasion, she was a serial naysayer who would not listen to reason despite being so mental. Her philosophy of life was to follow her brain before her heart, but this caused her to stagnate a bit and put aside her future plans that she had on a list.
Sebastian me pareci贸 un buen personaje masculino, super atento y respetuoso, la paciencia que le tuvo a Rina es de admirar, lo am茅, pero era como demasiado perfecto y eso le quit贸 algunos puntos en mi lista de crushes ficticios jajaja.
Sebastian seemed like a good male character to me, super attentive and respectful, the patience he had for Rina is to be admired, I loved him, but he was like too perfect and that took away some points on my fictional crushes list hahaha.
Uno de mis personajes favoritos fue Nelly, una de las pacientes, ella es una girlie m谩s amante de los libros. Era com煤n encontrarla leyendo mientras estuvo internada, y fue un personaje que aport贸 sabidur铆a a la trama y a la vida de Rina. Otro personaje que me gust贸 mucho fue Camille, la diosa griega, ella es lo m谩s cool.
One of my favorite characters was Nelly, one of the patients, she is a book-loving girlie. It was common to find her reading while she was an inpatient, and she was a character that brought wisdom to the plot and to Rina's life. Another character I really liked was Camille, the Greek goddess, she is the coolest.
Considero que tuvo un buen cierre, a pesar de algunos detalles que no suelen gustarme, pero ac谩 sent铆 que cumpl铆an un buen prop贸sito, por lo que me pareci贸 lo m谩s acertado. Me agrado el giro que dio Rina y que haya decidi贸 ir por sus sue帽os postergados antes que nada. Creo que fue un mensaje muy significativo en esta historia y eso le sum贸 puntos a favor. As铆 que es una lectura que recomiendo si les gustan todos estos temas y quieren leer algo ligero, divertido y con una trama r谩pida pero atrapante.
I think it had a good ending, in spite of some details that I don't usually like, but here I felt that they served a good purpose, so I thought it was the right thing to do. I liked the turn that Rina took and the fact that she decided to go for her dreams that had been postponed before anything else. I think it was a very meaningful message in this story and that added points in its favor. So it's a read I recommend if you like all these themes and want to read something light, fun and with a quick but catchy plot.
