Thank you! That Wiki article is fascinating. The boots pictured look exactly the same as the Crowns. I had no idea the shoe-style originated in South Africa. I had assumed the design was more recent because the only lore I've ever heard about them is they were worn in Northern Africa during some of the desert campaigns of WWII. I really appreciate this history lesson.

After wearing them, I can see why the style has has so much longevity. They're incredibly comfortable. I might consider resoling them with leather when these crepe soles wear out.
