The Stoics had a complicated relationship with emotions, I think. Lol.

That's awesome that you're feeling enthusiastic every day. Dogs are truly better companionship than most people—they have such pure souls. We're almost ready to get another. It's already been 2 1/2 years since we lost Amstel. Your morning routine sounds lovely. I have something similar—wake up, shower, breakfast, 30min on the treadmill while I talk to my Mom, 2-3 hours of writing, then lunch.

I think the parts of the day I look most forward to is the call with my Mom and the morning writing session. After my mid-day workout I usually read for a couple of hours in the afternoon and I always look forward to that time as well. My daily routine will change so much when we get a dog though. I won't be able to have these long stretches of uninterrupted time anymore.
