There you sat
with forgiveness
in your eyes
and a prayer
on your lips,
giving thanks
to the tremendous
storm that left you
stranded here.
At first
you shuddered,
then you cursed,
wishing for an
easy life...
but then
it happened,
in the midst
of the worst
of your struggles
you felt it,
a split-second
of immortality.
It was then
you understood
the power
you held
inside of you,
it was then
your eyes opened,
it was then
your eyes
no longer wept
and your soul
no longer slept.
Yes, it was then.
