The Warp Drive (EM Drive) is currently being developed by the NASA and the Chinese who is rumored to have successfully tested the device. It is a propullentless propulsion system (against the physical law as is generally known) that can send man to Mars in weeks.... a kind of must-have for man's exploration / conquest of outer space.
The other device is extremely down-to-earth and low-tech. It is called TLUD (Top-Lit Updraft) Kiln or burner that uses organic wastes to generate heat AND produces bio-char (biological charcoal) that has been proven to be an excellent additive for soil enrichment. It is also possibly the only carbon-negative way of heating, through partial combustion (pyrolysis). The whole process therefore locks-in carbon-dioxide from the air (through photosynthesis by plants as organic wastes) in the form of bio-char.... an excellent way to control global warming.
Will humanity's future depends on our ability to "migrate" to Mars (possibly via Warp Drive) or other planets? OR alternatively embrace Mother Earth with a new version of Ecological Civilization..... Why not BOTH, indeed?!
